Remote assistance
Select your computer and download TeamViewer QuickSupport directly from TeamViewer. You will not be sent to another page.
1. Which computer are you using?
2. Before downloading: what to do
- Download QuickSupport using the button at the bottom of this page.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the instructions shown on your computer.
- Only during an agreed assistance session, share the ID or session code and password with the authorised technician.
- Close QuickSupport at the end of the session.
Without the appropriate permissions, the technician may not be able to see your screen or control your Mac. Complete these steps before the assistance session.
- Open QuickSupport. If macOS asks for permissions, follow the prompts.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording (the label may be “Screen Recording” on older macOS versions). Enable TeamViewer QuickSupport.
- In System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, enable TeamViewer QuickSupport so the technician can use the mouse and keyboard.
- If macOS asks you to quit and reopen QuickSupport, do so. Check that the permissions are enabled before proceeding.
Optional permissions such as Full Disk Access are not normally required for a basic remote assistance session. Only enable additional permissions if needed and after discussing them with the technician.
QuickSupport is supplied as a tar.gz archive. Extract it and start the application as indicated in the package. Desktop environment and display-server compatibility may vary.
Only authorise sessions agreed with your technician. Never share access codes with unknown people. TeamViewer is third-party software and commercial support is subject to the manufacturer’s licensing terms.
